Abstract

The objective of this research work is to analyze the unavailability of the population of the State of Hidalgo for access to information technologies through the generation of the index of material unavailability of ICT, which allowed the classification of the municipalities in five dimensions analyzed statistically and using georeferencing techniques. The variables selected for this purpose were Internet connectivity, use of fixed telephone, mobile telephone, and computer. The information used was taken from the 2020 Population and Housing Census, as it was the only source of information that met the required Municipal coverage.

Among the most significant findings, we found a clear tendency to use cell phones for connectivity instead of using the Internet on computer equipment; however, this brings with it the difficulty for efficient use in activities such as school homework.
