Academic Sustainability Contribution for Scientific Advancement
Effective 1 January 2026, the Academic Sustainability Contribution for Scientific Advancement will become mandatory for all manuscripts accepted for publication.
This contribution consists of a fixed editorial contribution equivalent to USD 50, payable after editorial acceptance, and is intended solely to support the journal’s editorial operations and its open-access publishing model. This journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). The Academic Sustainability Contribution does not influence editorial decisions, peer review outcomes, or acceptance criteria in any way.
The contribution supports the sustainability of the journal and specifically covers:
- Permanent identifiers: Crossref membership and DOI registration for each published article, ensuring persistent and citable scholarly records.
- Open-access infrastructure: Secure hosting, software maintenance, and digital certificates that keep all content freely accessible without paywalls.
- Long-term preservation: Redundant backups and participation in digital archiving services to safeguard content for future generations.
- Quality assurance: Plagiarism detection services and editorial management tools that uphold research integrity and publication standards.
- We recognize that this contribution may not be covered by all funding bodies. Therefore, the journal operates a limited waiver policy. Authors without institutional or financial support may apply for a partial or full waiver, which will be assessed independently of editorial evaluation.
Payment options
For the Academic Sustainability Contribution, authors may choose one of the following secure PayPal payment options:
- USD payment: USD 53 (equivalent to USD 50, including payment processing fees)
- MXN payment: MXN 1,000 (equivalent amount, including payment processing fees)
Payments are processed via secure PayPal payment links. Credit and debit cards are accepted, and a PayPal account is not required.
For payment identification purposes, authors are kindly asked to include their manuscript ID and corresponding author name in the payment note.
